Medicine, Science and Education provides open access to the full texts of scientific articles from the time of their first publication.
1. Access Conditions
Published scientific articles are available to readers free of charge, without an embargo period or mandatory registration.
Access is not conditional on an author’s payment for other services or the purchase of a printed copy of the journal.
2. Use of Published Materials
New publications issued after the relevant revision of the journal’s Regulations takes effect are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0), unless lawful restrictions on specific third-party materials are separately identified.
The license permits redistribution and adaptation, including commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given to the authors and source, the license is identified, and any changes are indicated.
Licensing information appears on each article’s webpage and in its PDF. Sources, permissions, and exclusions from the license are identified separately for third-party materials.
3. Repository Deposit
Authors may deposit the following versions in repositories:
- the preprint;
- the accepted manuscript;
- the final published version.
The deposited version must be correctly identified. Once the final published version—the Version of Record—becomes available, a link to it must be provided.
4. Previously Published Articles
Previously published articles retain the terms that applied when they were issued. Licenses must not be changed retrospectively without the necessary consent of the rights holders.
A general website copyright notice does not restrict the rights granted to readers under an individual article’s license.
Further details are provided in the “Copyright and Licensing” section. Publication fee information is available in the “Article Processing Charges (APC)” section.
